Your Hosts

Coillemore House was created by Simon White and James Howarth, brought together by a shared history and a long-standing connection to the West Coast of Scotland.

Simon was first introduced to the Highlands at the age of 11, while James had been visiting since early childhood. The two first met through a shared family property in Lochcarron, where both developed a deep and lasting affection for the landscape, the pace of life, and the sense of escape that the West Coast offers.

Although their lives and careers were shaped in London and the South East, that connection never left and both continued to visit regularly to climb mountains, swim in lochs and rivers, watch sunsets and decompress and disengage from the hectic pace of London. Around ten years ago, they reconnected by managing the refurbishment of the Lochcarron property and quickly realised they shared the same vision — to create a place that would allow others to experience the same sense of connection, space and perspective that had meant so much to them growing up.

That vision became a reality in 2020 with the acquisition of Coillemore House.

What followed was a hands-on and challenging refurbishment journey. Simon relocated to the Highlands to lead the renovation on site, while James supported from London, helping to navigate the logistical and strategic challenges along the way. Together, they transformed the property into a high-quality, design-led holiday home tailored to family gatherings, and freind groups

Since opening, Coillemore House has welcomed guests from across the UK and internationally — from family holidays and milestone celebrations to small weddings and retreats. The focus has always been on creating meaningful stays in a setting that encourages people to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the landscape.

Over time, the business has become part of a wider local network. There are also strong relationships with local teams and service providers, including shared connections with trusted individuals who support both Coillemore House and other hospitality businesses in the area.

Today, Coillemore House continues to evolve, with a focus on thoughtful growth, wellness, high standards, and a deep respect for the community and environment in which it operates.

At its heart, the aim remains simple — to offer others the kind of experience that first drew Simon and James to the West Coast all those years ago.
